Frequently Asked Questions
A study in 2024 found that 50% of online pharmacies used medications that had the wrong dosage, exceeding the correct strength by 29% to 36%, and that 42% of online pharmacies studied were considered illegal pharmacies.
Many of these online pharmacies are giving high doses in the first month to show weight loss, but what they don't tell you is that this increases side effects, shortens the length of time that the medication will be effective, and creates unsustainable weight loss that you are highly likely to gain back.
Choosing a partner is absolutely critical. We understand this. Our entire company was created to provide a reliable, trusted medical practice that is more concerned about losing weight the right way, the safe way, rather than the fastest way. We want a happier, healthier you and we aren't going to cut corners in order to achieve that goal.
Your cost will vary based on your specific care plan. Our plans run in range of 30 to 40% of cost of the name brands.
Typically, if your primary care provider prescribes for you, prices would range from $1,000 to $1,400/month when getting it from a local pharmacy. This is because they are sending you to a local pharmacy and are buying directly from the pharmaceutical manufacturers (Eli Lilly or Novo Nordisk).
A lot of online sellers will advertise low cost (<$300) prices. Usually, these are sales tactics or low quality medicines coming from China. When encountering these prices please do your research. They are typically selling low quality, compounded products that may not be the same as the name brand products (Ozempic®, Wegovy®, Mounjaro®, etc..).

North East Therapeutics exclusively offers medications that are produced from 503A and 503B FDA authorized pharmacies. Their facilites are strictly regulated and all of their products are 3rd party tested and verified for potentcy, sterility, and accuracy.
Normally, our prescriptions are identical to the name brand drugs, and are produced under FDA shortage authorizations. They are not compounded with other medications or vitamins, which can change the prescriptions in unknown ways.
Actual weight loss will depend on the person, but can be as high as 20-30% over extended periods of time. A person who is willing to strictly follow plans and change their eating and excercise habits will lose more than a person who only takes their medication.
Healthy weight loss generally ranges in the 1 to 2 lbs per week range. If someone is losing weight much faster than that, they are not generally likely to keep the weight off long term.
While we require a 3 month minimum committment, this is specific to the person and their weight loss goals. This is something that you will discuss with your provider and we can provide some rough estimates for you at that time. Unfortunately, they will be only that, estimates. Each person will lose weight at a rate specific to them and their lifestyle.
Typical side effects are nausea, constipation, vomiting, diarrhea, or acid reflux. Normally these subside after the first month.
We typically start our patients at low doses and slowly increase the dosage to minimize side effects. If you do start to have side effects, we can normally recommend or prescribe other remedies (Colace for constipation, Pyroxidine for nausea, Immodium AD for diarrhia, etc.). We stay in very close contact with our patients to make sure their comfort and safety is the top priority.
Subcutaneous (under the skin) injections are pretty simple. Millions of diabetics have been giving themselves injections for decades. The needle is very small and very thin. We will provide videos to teach you everything you need to know in order to do this at home safely. Nearly all of our patients over-think this part of the treatments, once they do it, their response is typically something like "that's it?"
This question comes down to cost and health history. Our providers will talk to you about both of these options. If health history indicates that both would be possible, we like the following article from Drugs.com to compare the two and help you decide:

Because we take your health seriously. While medical weight loss is a growing trend, there are a lot of providers who do not take it seriously. At NET, we go above and beyond for good reason. We are going to monitor key indicators in your blood and require you to do blood work multiple times a year, as every weight loss provider should be doing. This is for your safety. We make sure you can talk to your provider easily and directly. No calling our office waiting for them to call you back. You text them directly in our app, and they will get back to you during office hours.
We may not be the right providers for you, and if that's the case, that's ok, but please choose providers who are:
Testing your blood
Staying in frequent contact with you, especially in the first couple of months
Providing you with the nutrition and total plan that will keep you from gaining the weight right back.
